FINDING A BETTER WAY TO STOP YOUR FLEET

At the core of our business success is a tradition of developing new products that raise the standards for our industry. This is exemplified by our introduction of the first asbestos-free brake linings and Cohesive Friction®. Such innovation does not just happen... it requires a dedication of people and resources to finding a better way.
Our commitment to these concepts is clearly demonstrated within the Carlisle Technical Center. This 25,000 square foot Research & Development complex features a materials laboratory, pilot laboratory, administrative offices and an extensive dynamic testing facility. In turn, we’ve assembled an engineering staff from around the world with decades of friction experience. The initial product developed from our R&D team at the Carlisle Technical Center was Cohesive Friction followed by additions to the Milestone range of products. The team continues to develop new materials to meet the demands of braking in the heavy duty truck industry. Whether it’s developing the corrosion resistant Rustgard coating for brake shoes, meeting the challenge of reducing stopping distances for heavy duty trucks or developing materials for the emerging heavy duty air disc brake market in North America, Carlisle’s Research and Development team have the answer.
